Local SEO services

Local SEO services that show their workings.

If your customers are nearby, they are already searching. The only questions are who Google shows them, and whether whoever you pay to fix that can prove anything changed. This page is the answer to both, with the numbers on it.

Bar chart from our study of UK agency SEO pricing, with most published entry prices landing between 250 and 499 pounds a month

Real data, not an illustration: what UK agencies charge monthly, from our study of 504 agencies, August 2026.

Your customers, right now

They are not searching your name. They are searching “near me”.

Whatever kind of local business you run, this is what your customers typed last month, UK-wide.

The searchSearches in July
cafe near me3,350,000
gym near me673,000
barber near me550,000
hairdresser near me301,000
dentist near me246,000
dog groomer near me90,500
accountant near me8,100

Google keyword data for the United Kingdom, July 2026, pulled 29 August 2026.

Every one of those searches is answered the same way: a map with three businesses on it, chosen mostly by where the searcher is standing, what the listing says it is, and what its reviews look like. That map is the battleground, and most local businesses have never seen their position on it measured.

What we know about that map

We measured it, so neither of us has to guess.

In August 2026 we ran 1,959 real searches across ten UK towns and collected 24,924 usable map rankings. The study was run on trades, but what it measured is how the map pack itself behaves, and that machinery is the same for every local category.

  • First place reaches about 0.9 miles

The median business that took first place anywhere held it to just under a mile from its pin. Proximity is the heaviest factor on the map and nobody can buy it, which is why anybody selling you town-wide domination is selling a story.

  • Reviews are the lever you own

Businesses with under ten reviews held top three spots to a median of 0.71 miles. Past 150 reviews, 1.84 miles, over twice the reach. Asking every happy customer, consistently, is the most controllable factor the map has.

  • The category does quiet damage

What your listing says it is matters more than almost anything written on your website. It is one of the few factors Google’s own guidance names, and it is wrong more often than anybody expects.

The full method and every number is in the published study, so you can check rather than trust.

What you are buying

A measurement, a fix, and the same measurement again.

  1. The baseline

A rank map of your actual area before anything changes: dozens of real searches from real points across the streets you serve, showing exactly where you appear and where you vanish. If you are already doing well, this is where I tell you that and we part as friends.

  2. The fixable things, fixed

The pin, the category, the details agreeing with each other everywhere they appear, a review routine that runs on asking rather than luck, and a site that answers the searcher’s question with a number a thumb can hit.

  3. The same map, every month

Identical grid, identical searches, next to Google’s own figures for calls, direction requests and clicks. That is what the monthly fee buys, and it is deliberately the kind of evidence you could sack me with.

Priced in the open: from £500 setup and £75 a month, detail on the pricing page. For context, we surveyed 504 UK agencies in August 2026 and only about one in eight publish any SEO price at all; among those that do, the median entry price is £425 a month. That study is published too.

Questions

Worth asking.

Can you get me to the top of Google across the whole town?

No, and nobody honest can. When we measured 24,924 map rankings across ten towns in August 2026, not one business held a top three spot across most of its own area, and a typical town had about three dozen different leaders depending on where the searcher stood. What can be done is real: find where you are invisible, fix what is fixable, and extend your reach street by street. Anybody promising the whole town is promising something the data says does not exist.

My customers are all over the country, not nearby. Will this work?

Then this is the wrong product and I would rather say so here than take your money. Local SEO moves map results, and map results are shown to people searching near you. If your revenue is not local there is nothing worth measuring, and a monthly rank map of your street would be theatre. A website is a different conversation, but do not buy local visibility you cannot use.

What do I actually get each month?

The same measurement, repeated. A rank map run on the identical grid to your baseline, so the comparison is honest, next to Google's own figures for how many people called, asked for directions or clicked through. One page, readable in ninety seconds. If it was a quiet month the report says so, and if the numbers stop moving you can see that too and cancel.

How is this different from what an agency would sell me?

Mostly in what you can check. We surveyed 504 UK agencies in August 2026 and only about one in eight publish any SEO price at all, and the median entry price among those that do is £425 a month. Mine is published, from £500 setup and £75 a month, and the deliverable is a measurement you can argue with rather than a report that marks its own homework.

Do you only work with tradespeople?

No. The trade pages exist because tradesmen search for this by their trade, but the mechanics on this page are the same for a salon, a gym, a clinic, an accountant or a cafe: a map pack, a pin, a category, reviews and proximity. If your customers are nearby, the work is the same work.

Where you stand

Find out where you actually rank.

Send me your business name and the areas you cover, and I’ll check where you’re showing up across your area and where you’re not. There’s no charge for it, and if you’re already doing well I’ll tell you that.
